Seaweed epiphyte / feed culture substrate "Culbase"

A new porous growth material that combines the technology of porous concrete with shells, which are natural recycled resources.

Features of Culbase

  • Due to its complex structure with high surface roughness, it promotes the adhesion of seaweed spores and eggs, making it ideal as a substrate for seaweed bed formation. In addition, it continuously exerts the epiphytic effect of seaweed.
  • In the water-permeable voids inside the Culbase substrate, decapods (shrimp and crabs) and polychaeta (clam worms) that feed fish are naturally inhabited at an early stage. A suitable feeding environment for fish is formed. [Porosity 50-60% or more]
  • The Culbase panel is a self-supporting panel structure supported by reinforced concrete, and since a large area can be designed in any shape, it is economical and can be attached to various fishing ground development items such as FP Reefs.
